335 bhp, 428 cu. in. OHV Cobra Jet V-8 with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, three-speed C6 Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission, independent front suspension, live rear axle, and front disc and rear drum brakes. Wheelbase: 108 in.

Ford first introduced the Mustang Mach 1 in 1969, in an effort to phase out the “GT” moniker that had previously been a staple since its inception in 1965. With this model, Ford introduced the famed Cobra Jet series of engines, which offered an impressive amount of horsepower. This was Ford's mainstream performance automobile, and it truly solidified the company's position as a capable manufacturer of American muscle cars. Ford effectively jam-packed the Cobra Jet with the perfect combination of looks and personality, making it equally as desirable today as it was when it was first introduced.

The Mach 1 offered here is documented by its accompanying Marti Report and a copy of its build sheet as having originally been built in Aztec Aqua and featuring a “blackout” hood treatment, a Cobra Jet V-8, a Cruise-O-Matic transmission, “Hi-Back” front bucket seats and a “Sport Deck” rear seat, power front disc brakes, power steering, a tachometer, an AM radio, and Selectaire air conditioning. It was one of only five hundred ninety-seven produced in this trim in 1969, and it has been restored back to its original specifications by a rotisserie restoration that reportedly took over three years to complete. The detailing throughout is exactingly correct and to very high-quality show standards. Its panel fit is perfect, as is the undercarriage finish, and all of its trim appears as-new. The correct smog equipment is even on the car still.

With the “shaker” hood, rear window slats, and aggressive spoilers, this muscle machine looks just as menacing as it would have on the streets of Brownsburg, Indiana, where it originally cruised 45 years ago.
