As 1957 dawned, a burst of energy rippled through every level of Chevrolet manufacturing and caught the Corvette by storm: sales almost doubled to 6,339 for the year. The fuel-injected option offered up to 283 horsepower from the new 283-cubic inch engine, and 1,040 FI Corvettes were sold, though there were only 43 with the highest horsepower setup. In that configuration, a fuel-injected Corvette could do 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds, 0-100 mph in 16.7 seconds and a top speed of 132 mph.

Fewer than 30 buyers opted for fuel injection, combined with the two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission, which makes this car quite rare. The quality of its documented and photographed restoration by Neighbor Brothers is excellent, as can be appreciated by its awards. Handsomely finished in Cascade Green with beige coves and tan interior, this car also has the desirable optional hardtop. It is in superb condition, with faultless paint and chrome, a very well-fitted interior and spotless engine compartment.

Awards include a score of 99% at the Bloomington Gold Special Collection, NCRS Top Flight, six Best of Show awards, three concours d’elegance wins, three Top Flight Revelle Model Car awards, ’Vette Magazine cover car honors and features in several Corvette books.

In detail, the roster of triumphs is truly impressive: Bloomington Gold certified; Bloomington Gold Special Collection car; multiple NCRS Top Flight certifications; Huntington Beach Concours (three times First in Class); Muchenthaler Concours First in Class; Pelican Hill Concours First in Class; Palos Verde Concours First in Class; and a personal invitation for display at the Newport Beach Concours as a special-interest vehicle (first and only time a Corvette has been present). At Mid-America’s (first and only) West Coast Corvette Classic, it won Best of Show out of hundreds of cars and was Mike Yager's personal choice. It also won Plastic Fantastic in Seaport Village, San Diego, where it was Best of Show in a field of over 100 Corvettes. In addition, it was displayed at the Klassix Auto Museum in Florida and the Big Texas Round-up as one of 20 of the rarest, finest and fastest Corvettes in the world.
