345 bhp, 5,665 cc LS1 V-8 engine, six-speed manual transmission, front and rear independent suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes with ABS. Wheelbase: 104.5 in.

This Corvette, which was specifically built to pace the Indy Racing League in 2000, is one of just a handful of legitimate C5-generation Corvette pace cars to have ever left Bowling Green. To better suit its pace car duties, an upgraded oil cooler was installed, the car’s ride height was reduced to ¾ of an inch in the front and 1¼ of an inch in the rear, to improve high-speed stability, and the requisite strobe-light package was outfitted.

The car was purchased by Mr. Pack directly from General Motors in 2007, and it would be ideal for either road or track use. While Indy Racing League and Indianapolis pace car replicas and special-edition models have always been treasured by enthusiasts, the opportunity to acquire a real pace car is indeed a rare opportunity for any serious Corvette collector.
