271 bhp, 289 cu. in. “K-Code” V-8 engine with a single four-barrel carburetor, four-speed manual transmission, independent front suspension with unequal length A-arms and coil springs, live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 108 in.
The occasion to find an original low-mileage vintage car is worth celebrating, especially when it is a “K-Code” 1965 Mustang.
This Coupe, which has supposedly spent over 30 years of its existence in a California storage space, has many important qualities. A copy of the 2006 title states that the 16,613 miles on the odometer are “actual,” and today, this Mustang still has less than 16,700 miles showing. It has also benefitted from a full refinish of the very attractive Prairie Bronze paint finish. All of the body panels are said to remain as original, with the exception of the driver door skin. During the 2008 comprehensive restoration process, photos were taken of the hidden engine block stamping, which matches the inner fender and door tag. The engine compartment, home to the 271-horsepower V-8, has been well detailed and features original-style clamps, hoses, an oil filter, and accessories.
The interior is correct to as it was when new, and it retains a Palomino color scheme, Rally Pack gauges, a pushbutton AM radio, and a non-console floor shifter. All of the brightwork and chrome remain in excellent shape.
