The Triumph TR6 was the most popular product offering in the TR range by the time production ended in mid-1976. All TR6s featured the bulletproof inline six-cylinder engines which put out a respectful 106 horsepower. The TR6 featured a four-speed manual transmission with optional overdrive, which lent itself to long cruises on rolling country roads or higher-speed motorway travel.
This example, chassis CF/16022-U is a low-mileage original that was treated to a comprehensive ground-up restoration in 2003. It is finished in the correct original color of Pimiento Red with a contrasting Black interior and top. Completing the look are Redline tires and the correct top boot and tonneau cover. The underside is very nicely finished and displays beautifully as does the engine bay, which has clean engine surfaces and still retains its original dual SU carburetors. Since completion of the restoration it has covered 500 miles.
Aside from its exceptional appearance, CF/16022-U is accompanied by its British Motor Heritage Certificate of originality as well as restoration records and a binder of photography documenting the restoration. It is also complete with the factory supplied tools and manuals. The TR6 has a dedicated club following as well as an extensive network of NOS and reproduction service parts. The Triumph TR6 has been gaining in popularity in recent years; as the desirability of such cars continues to climb, well-restored and documented examples like this one will continue to lead the pack.
