The Jaguar E-type, also known as the XK-E, brought style and performance together to create a mass-produced supercar that features a monocoque body and a tubular front chassis. The brown with tan example on offer is powered by a 258-cid, 240-hp inline six cylinder engine with dual overhead camshafts and connected to a four-speed manual gearbox. The XKE line also was equipped with four-wheel disc brakes. The 1970 model was part of the Series 2 E-types and as such benefitted from a number of refinements over the Series 1 designed to make them a better driving car.

Perennially turning up on lists of "most attractive" or "greatest" sports cars, the E-type Jaguars were even once declared by Enzo Ferrari as, "the most beautiful car ever made". No small praise from any quarter. It offered good looks with good performance and did it in a way that was available to many.
