Among the updates for the De Ville in this model year was a new and larger V-8 engine displacing 472 cubic inches and 375 horsepower. All examples came equipped with an automatic transmission along with power seats, windows, steering and brakes. This example is finished in Grecian White and is triple white when including the soft-top and leather interior; plush fabrics and upscale trim rounded the package out. To own one today is to experience a very brief time in American auto history when too much was just enough.
Cadillac has enjoyed a long history of being an industry leader. However, they have also known when to leave well enough alone and the 68 Convertible De Ville was just such a car.
