This surreal and fascinating painting by Dan Schilling depicts the early history of Enzo Ferrari and his fabled marque. Featured in the center of the image is a young Enzo, along with Nicola Romeo (center, with cane), and Romeo’s aide, Giorgio Rimini, among others, at Monza in August 1923. To his right is his very first Ferrari, the 125 S, and to the left the Dino, named in tribute to his late son Alfredo. Above this is the 1967 Daytona-winning 330 P4, as well as an airplane that transforms into one of Enzo’s Scuderia Ferrari grand prix cars.

Dan Schilling is a contemporary surrealist painter known for his hyper-realistic and otherworldly creations. His work has been exhibited around the world at renowned institutions such as the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, California, the Sierra Nevada Art Museum in Reno, Nevada, and the U.C. Davis Art Center in Davis, California.
