This large and lavish silver plated and gilt motor racing trophy features an elaborate Art Nouveau design with gilded winged wheel details. According to the engraving clearly identified on the three-handled body, the trophy was awarded to “FRANCIS.E.STANLEY NEWTON MASS” by “Chas.B.Ryan SEABOARD AIRLINE” at “ORMOND BEACH FLA, Jan 21–26, 1907.” This was a highly significant week in Stanley racing history—a trophy won by Stanley driving a Stanley. It is mounted on an ebonized, lacquered, and stepped circular plinth. This well detailed, highly presentable example is in impeccable new condition with no notable flaws or imperfections.
