A 1929 RAC Tourist Trophy Race 17 August, Ards Circuit Belfast the Official Programme.
Five Bentleys entered the field, three Supercharged 4.5s, the 4.5-Litre, ‘Old Mother Gun’, and ‘Old No One’ Speed Six. This race attracted some of the finest racing drivers of the day including the Alfa Romeos of Ivanowski, Campari, and Ramponi and the 7-Litre Supercharged Mercedes of Caracciola, Merz, and Thistlethwayte. Equally notable was the inclusion of W.O. Bentley, who sat alongside Tim Birkin as his racing mechanic.
