The famed RUF Automobile of Germany, created a twin-turbo car called the CTR Yellowbird. This car was introduced in the 1987 model year as a refined Porsche Carrera built specifically for ruling the race track. The whole car was modified including the installation of a roll cage, upgraded suspension and braking and the transmission was also modified to withstand the new power output of the engine.
Because of the reputation and exclusivity of the Yellowbird, numerous car builders have made replicas paying homage to what RUF created. This 1983 Porsche 911SC has been modified to pay tribute to the RUF Yellowbird. It is powered by a strong six-cylinder engine that is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. The exterior is finished in yellow with a rear mounted spoiler and RUF wheels. The interior has black upholstery, roll cage, modern stereo unit, power windows, accessory gauges and air conditioning.
This is a lovely recreation that properly pays homage the the famed Yellowbird from the 1980s.
