This is an incredible example of a 1964 Corvette roadster; according to the owner’s research, the car was built in December 1963. The car is shown, as delivered new, to Fairway Chevrolet in Westport, Connecticut. The 39,275 miles on the odometer are believed to be accurate due to title records and conversations with the previous owners confirming their limited usage of the car. Included in the sale are surviving early service records from the Connecticut dealer.

The Corvette has received a frame-on restoration. The entire car was painstakingly disassembled around the body and frame. This approach was taken because the exterior was beautifully repainted by a prior owner. The fiberglass body panels have never been replaced and the interior contains the original door panels and carpet.

The Daytona Blue roadster has its original drivetrain that comprises the L76 327-cid, 365-hp V-8, solid-lifter engine that is connected to a Muncie close ratio four-speed manual transmission and the correct 3.70:1 rear-end. Other factory equipment includes power brakes and AM/FM radio. The engine was recently tuned, valves adjusted and fluids changed.

Two sets of wheels are included – the original steel wheels and hubcaps for judging, as well as a set of reproduction knockoffs for driving (as seen in the accompanying photos). Since this is an early build 1964, the hubcaps are polished and are also in excellent condition. Both sets of tires are the correct reproduction. The steel wheels have whitewall tires. The spare has an original tire.

All of this fine attention to detail has resulted in the Corvette being the recipient of prestigious awards from the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS). These hard-to-earn honors include NCRS Duntov Award of Excellence; NCRS Top Flight and the NCRS Performance Verification awards. To further illustrate the level of attention this car has received, the glove box documents are complete and contain a mint-condition owner’s manual, owner’s pin and a blank new original stock (NOS) 1964 Owners Protection Plan Booklet with all of the perforated cards intact. The rest of the glove box documents are correct reproductions. This is an exquisite example of the marque. It has been lovingly restored to reflect the style and beauty of this well-remembered era of Corvette.
