After a successful 1940, in which Buick was the fourth placed United States automobile manufacturer, they solidified their place by continuing the modernization of their styling for the 1941 model year. Fenders integrated within the hood with wider grille and headlights pushed out to the fender edges and accentuated the cars width. Convertibles were instrumental in Buickā€™s sales success, and were second only to Ford in convertible sales in 1941. Also, for the first time on a Buick, a power convertible top was standard equipment. A complete set of gauges was set in an attractive Damascened chrome panel, as was the glove box-mounted clock. Engine maintenance became easier with the new one-piece hood, which allowed access from either side by activating the latch, blended nicely within the side trim. Releasing both latches would allow the hood to be removed entirely. Fashionable in 1941, this Buick six-passenger Convertible Coupe remains a quintessential reminder of pre-war elegance and style.

The beautiful convertible coupe on offer is a model 56C that was restored by Doug Seybold in 2007. Nominated for a National Award by the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA), Senior Division, 2010. One of 30 finalists (out of 2500 entries) in the 2009 NY Times Classic Car Contest. Additional work completed by Jenkins Restorations. Cowl tag reads US NAVY 24 JAN 1941. All components on the car are operational. Only driven on rare occasions; just 300 miles have been added to the odometer total since 2008.
