Addendum: Please note that this example is titled as a 1967.

In May of 1962 the production of the MGA ceased, and just after the last MGA was produced, behind it on the assembly line was its successor, the MGB. Sporting a completely new monocoque design with more power and better options, the MGB became one of the most iconic MG models and British sports cars of all time. The MGB was a sports car most could afford and offered a lot of fun in a little package. There were various editions, models and concepts produced. But the pre-1967 cars retain the purity of the original and offer much value for money as the most collectible MGB produced.

The example on offer here, a 1966 MGB titled as a 1967 is a finely restored example that has just come out of a total restoration with under 100 miles since completion in the past few months. It has the benefit of being the ultimate MGB in many ways. As a metal dash, overdrive, wire wheel example finished in quintessential British sports car colors of British Racing Green with a Black interior, it has all the right ingredients as a top notch, show worthy and highly collectible MG.

During the course of restoration all systems were completely rebuilt throughout the car and done to correct show quality with nothing skipped. The engine was completely disassembled and totally rebuilt with hardened valve seats in the head, new rings, pistons, bearings and more. The transmission was inspected and was in order; so a new clutch, flywheel and related hydraulics were all replaced or rebuilt. The braking, steering and suspension was completely tended to with all new or rebuilt components throughout including bushings, steering box, wheel cylinders, bearing and more. The car has the benefit of the very common 12-volt conversion and with this the car is now negative ground.

Cosmetically this car was completely stripped to bare metal, totally taken apart and built back up. The paint is very nice, shiny, and easily show quality having been finished only recently. The chrome is of the same consistency and all glass and rubber is in excellent condition as well. The body is totally complete with nothing out of place, straight down the sides with good gaps and panel fitment throughout.

The engine bay and trunk are both finished in British Racing Green and are also show quality with correct clamps and are highly detailed. Nothing appears out of place and the work completed was done to a very high standard.

Entering the interior shows a very well completed job including all new leather throughout, correct carpet and nicely appointed dash with all instrumentation in working order with many of the gauges rebuilt. The door jams are clean, the under the dash is in order as well; all culminating in a very correct cockpit envronment.

Included in the sale are all of the accessories one seeks in a totally restored and highly correct Metal Dash 5 Main MGB Roadster. All weather gear is present along with the original spare, jack, hammer and radio. The original books, service manual, and original bill of sale are also included.
