Essentially a "face-lifted" TD, the MG TF retains the quintessential British sports car look. This was no mistake on MGs part, as the pre-war look was the root of the company's success after WWII. TFs are the last, best, and often deemed the most collectible of the T-Series MGs. Superseded in April of 1955 by the MGA, the TF was produced to exactly 9,602 units in two years, and was even a competitive privateer entrant in many races throughout Europe and North America.

The example on offer here presents phenomenally well as a factory Black with Red interior example, and is mechanically correct as per the British Heritage Trust Certificate that is present. The MG has been restored to very high standards, and driven seldom since by two very caring owners, this TF has received special attention during its nut-and-bolt restoration, completed only a few years ago. All of the chrome shows to be newly plated and in show worthy condition, while the wire wheels are new and are period correct as painted instead of chrome. The door fit is the best we have seen on an MG T-Series, and all of the body pieces fit exceptionally well with nothing out of place. The glass is flawless with no cracks or fading, and all rubber trim and various components are nearly new with no blemishes as well. The tires are nearly new with little use, as is the top which can be described as flawless and fits perfectly.

The interior is impressive with exceptional fit and finish throughout using all of the correct materials. The gauges are all in perfect working order, with the temperature always in the middle and the oil pressure showing 50-pounds consistently. The interior has been trimmed very well, and the steering wheel appears to have been restored as well and is in excellent condition. Under the dash shows a well-restored pedal assembly and tidy wiring. The leather rear shelf is free of any issues and the door jams and door inserts are well-fitting and have been expertly completed with no blemishes.

We have driven this TF with spirit to report there are no issues to be found. Operating temperature and oil pressure are consistently good, and the power throughout the rev range is excellent. Handling is tight and stiff, while the brakes work very well with no pulling or surprises. This car has seen a lot of care and investment into the drive train having been completely rebuilt at the time of restoration and the entirety of the mechanical aspects and running gear completely rebuilt as well.

Offered with all weather gear, tonneau cover, British Heritage Trust Certificate, spare, and tools; this is one of the better TFs to be offered in recent times. Restored to a very high standard and showing in its original and impressive color combination with little use since completion, this is the ideal opportunity for any enthusiast or collector to own a show ready TF at a fraction of the restoration cost.
