When the second generation Corvette was launched in 1963, it received notoriety that only a handful of Corvettes have ever achieved. The new sleek aerodynamic design, was riding on a redesigned chassis equipped with four-wheel independent suspension. There was 10,594 coupes produced and 10,919 convertibles produced. This would be the first year that all the Corvettes manufactured were not a convertible (also at times called roadsters), and the only year that the split rear window was available.

This Corvette Coupe has had a stunning frame-off restoration. Restoring it to a condition that has been NCRS judged, and scored 94 out of 95 points. It is reported that the drivetrain is correct for the car. This car shows the immaculate type of restoration and attention to details that are desired on these Corvette models.

The Corvette is tailored with the L84 engine option which entails a 327-cid, 360-hp fuel-injected V-8 engine with an 11.25:1 compression ratio, large port heads, domed aluminum pistons, performance camshaft and a larger aluminum intake manifold. Married to the engine is a four-speed close ratio manual transmission. The paint is finished elegantly in Sebring Silver with brightwork that shows to be in excellent condition, along with the correct knock-off style wheel covers. The interior is finished in black with bucket seats, and features full instrumentation, pushbutton radio and a dash-mounted clock.

The all-new Corvette generated immediate approval, with Motor Trend testers commenting: “We thought the old model cornered darn well, but there’s no comparing it to this new one”. Road & Track said that the 1963 Corvette “will know few peers”. The model has become a design classic, as it is renowned for its combination of European-inspired high style and American strength, and it remains coveted by Corvette collectors as one of the most important Corvette models.
