In 1969, Porsche introduced its first substantial changes to the model 911, which now came in three models: the 911T, 911E and 911S which could be purchased in a targa body or coupe. Although the E and S models were fitted with mechanical fuel injection, the T model would remain carbureted until 1972 when they would become electronic fuel-injected. The T was the base model, but it was still suited for the tract and very street friendly.
The 1970 911T being offered is an all original survivor with 67,000 miles and unique factory options, per the Certificate of Authenticity. It is a three owner vehicle with the second owner purchasing this 911 from a local Porsche dealer when it was just two years old in 1972. He owned this 911 for 42 years and this 911 has not been tampered with. The history shows he drove it regularly for the first three to four years and then it was relegated to an occasional driver. He had acquired many vehicles over the years including some other Porsches and Ferraris. This 911 was stored in a steel equipment building and he drove it back and forth from his business workshop to his home once in a while for the next 37 years.
The engine in this car is the air-cooled 2.2-liter flat six-cylinder engine married to a factory option five-speed manual transaxle. The car still retains the original floorpans (which were vulnerable in the early model years) and front suspension and is equipped with front and rear stabilizers. The Sepia brown paint is said to be 90-percent original, the mint condition brown leatherette interior is all original. It remains all matching numbers, original paint and interior and is an excellent driving example with only 67,075 original miles. It has been fully serviced and tuned with a value adjustment. All fluids were changed - oil, brake guild, brakes bleed, gear oil (Swepco), drained the fuel and cleaned the fuel tank. New accelerator bushings were replaced along with several rubber seals. The chain tensioner had never been updated so that was done along with new rails, chains and reseal of the housings. The fuel lines were replaced as needed. A new set of Vredestein tires where installed on a refinished set of 5.5-inch x14-inch Fuchs alloy wheels. Factory options include: 14x5.5 Fuchs light metal wheels, Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, comfort equipment and tinted windows all around. Also the Porsche is equipped with an antenna left with loud speaker and noise suppression.
Included with the purchase of the car are books, jack, COA and extensive records that document services and mileage. This 911 is said to start right up and truly drives like a dream. It is getting harder to find 911’s that are still in original condition.
