In regards to this model Chevrolet ad men wrote, “Only a man with a heart of stone could withstand temptation like this!” The 1963 Corvette Sting Ray was inspired directly from GM Styling Chief, Bill Mitchell’s 1959 concept car, “The Sting Ray Racer”. This model featured hidden headlamps, peaked fender lines, and a dramatic ‘dual-cove’ instrument panel. The new and improved shorter chassis design combined with a four-wheel independent suspension, improved torsional rigidity and helped balance the weight to the rear for improved handling. The Sting Ray was also a lighter Corvette which helped improve the cars quickness off the line. The small block 327-cid V-8, mated to a four-speed automatic transmission, provides the all too familiar raw American rumble that resonates with every true car enthusiast.

This numbers matching Corvette is a California original black plate car that has been well-cared-for and meticulously kept. A restoration performed 10-years ago included a new repaint in the original color, reupholstering of the seats, bows for a new convertible top, and the brightwork re-chromed as needed; the goal of keeping the car as authentic and original as possible. The car is equipped with factory options such as a four-speed, factory hubcaps, Delco AM/FM radio, factory hardtop and soft-top. This original color combination, with whitewall tires, is stunning. It is a very honest, great driving car and is sure to bring a smile to your face every time you take it for a drive along those winding roads you only dreamed of conquering before.
