This stylish and well-known Lincoln is recounted as being one of only four 1931 Model K’s that would receive Waterhouse coachwork in the form of the elegant Convertible Victoria. Of these, it is thought that this striking example is one of two that remains in existence.

It was the focus of an extensive restoration in 1968 by Hibernia Auto Restorations, LLC, and is even now capable of scoring well at shows and concours, as previously accomplished by winning national first place awards at Classic Car Club and Antique Automobile Club of America meets, along with winning the honorary Judges Award at the Palo Alto Concours in 2000. Besides earning its national awards, the Lincoln has been showcased in a comprehensive article on the Waterhouse firm and its coachbuilding successes in the esteemed Automobile Quarterly.

The renowned Waterhouse Company of Webster, Massachusetts had a short time in the limelight due to the economic climate of the era, but during this period they designed and built coachwork whose influences carried on. Custom bodies, such as this Convertible Victoria, personified the company’s slogan "A Recognized Reputation for Smart Sport Models". Among the custom Waterhouse touches seen in this car are the distinct door moldings and extended cowl, as well as the extraordinarily low, raked windshield. Its total presence is one of understated sportiness whether the top is fixed or lowered.

This striking Lincoln joined the prominent collection of Otis Chandler in 1998, where it stayed until the group was auctioned in 2006. It then became part of another fine Southern California collection, where it has been fastidiously conserved. Numerous classic car enthusiasts and collectors find the Waterhouse convertible victoria body style as one of the most desirable of the open body cars of the Classic Era. A close assessment of this Lincoln effortlessly validates this conclusion. This beautiful car is qualified for all Classic Car Club activities, as well as the meets and tours of other national car collecting establishments.
