The upscale Capri was introduced in 1952 and it was meant to capitalize on the decline of Packard and to become a stronger challenge to Cadillac. By April of 1955, Lincoln enjoyed new status as a separate division with the formation of Lincoln-Mercury, and the success in the La Carrera Panamericana during 1952, 1953 and 1954 brought many engineering improvements to the marque. It was also the first year Lincoln used its own automatic transmission as opposed to the cars coming equipped with the GM Hydramatic.

The 1955 Lincoln Capri Coupe offered here is an original California and Arizona car that shows around 38,000 miles on the odometer, believed to be from new. It retains its original 341-cid V-8 engine producing 225-hp and was recently freshened with new paint, interior and chrome returning it to its original colors of Cashmere Coral and Ermine White. It is well-equipped and includes new whitewall tires as well as a Continental kit, fender skirts, power steering, power windows, power seats and power brakes. The vendor reports that the car is in excellent running and driving condition and is ready for the enjoyment of its next owner.
