Coachwork by LeBaron

414-cid, 150-hp, L-head V-12 engine, three-speed manual transmission, solid front axle and live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, four-wheel power-assisted mechanical drum brakes. Wheelbase: 145-inches

Lincoln built just 133 12-cylinder Model K examples in 1939, the last year for the exclusive, luxurious model produced since 1933. No fewer than 21 different body designs were available from Brunn, Willoughby, Judkins and LeBaron, with all but three built in single-digit quantities. That number included the two-passenger coupe by LeBaron, of which just four are thought to have been built, including the exceptional example offered here.

Between 1988 and 1989 the car was brought to C.A.R.S. of Reno where the car went through a thorough inspection and a mechanical restoration was initially performed. The owner then brought the Lincoln back to California with the intention of restoring it completely. Unfortunately he was never able to carry it out and the car remained in his garage for about 20 years. In 2009 however, he decided to get his beloved Lincoln finally restored, and hired Surf City Speed of Grant Pass, Oregon to carry out the work. The goal was to make this Lincoln a show quality car, worthy of its heritage. During the restoration every mechanical component was given a thorough going through as the car would now be completely restored both mechanically and cosmetically. The Lincoln was brought back to bare metal and subsequently repainted in a handsome maroon color and tan interior and trim. Additionally, all brightwork was also restored and today this is an excellent example of a fine collector automobile that would be an outstanding CCCA tour car for either the novice or more experienced collector.
