The highest evolution of the storied Jaguar XK series, the XK 150 gave Jaguar drivers the performance they expected, paired with a slightly larger, more comfortable body to create a legendary grand touring machine still beloved by enthusiasts and collectors today.

Powered by a 190-bhp 3.4-liter twin-cam six-cylinder engine, the XK 150 offered slightly more conservative styling than its predecessors, the XK 120 and 140, most notably the absence of the “cut door” line seen on the earlier cars and the inclusion of a revised grille and full width safety bumpers. The car was greatly improved by the inclusion of four-wheel disc brakes, a first for road-going Jaguars, a padded dash, deep wraparound windscreen, and larger, more comfortable seats.

The example offered here, chassis no. S 831469, was completed on 1 October 1958 and was shipped to Jaguar Cars in New York on 21 October of that same year. The car features its original, stunning color combination of Mist Grey over red interior with a black convertible top. It has been owned by the consignor for approximately the last 25 years and has never been fully restored. The car was repainted in its original shade approximately two years ago, and is currently fitted with Jaguar E-Type wire wheels, though the original XK 150 wheels are included.

As the last of the fabled series of sporting Jaguars, the XK 150 represents the end of an era. Even today, some 60 years after it was designed, it still provides the owner with an incredible and unforgettable open-air driving experience.
