• Beautifully maintained, original, unrestored final year E-Type
• Only 4,493 actual miles
• Factory air conditioning and wire wheels
This desirable final year E-Type with factory air conditioning and wire wheels was delivered to its original owner in Aberdeen, Maryland by Bennet Jaguar, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, on April 8, 1975, at a final price of $9,260. The buyer returned it to Pennsylvania as a trade-in four years later, and it was resold on December 8, 1978 as a “used car” from Wrona Pontiac-Cadillac, of Quakerstown.
The second owner kept the Jaguar for 34 years but drove it only about 3,500 miles, most of them between 1978 and 1986. The car was then put into proper storage in a heated garage, and as offered today, it is very much as it emerged from the garage 26 years later, with only 4,493 actual miles.
The originality of this car cannot be overstated; with the exception of a repaint and some modern undercoating, every component is untouched and virtually immaculate. The chrome is near perfect with only a few blemishes, and the rubber bumpers are not warped or faded. The glass, top fabric, and backlight are as-new. The interior is so original that traces of the plastic that covered the seats as the new car journeyed to Allentown are still visible, and everything, once again, appears as it did in 1974. Importantly, such frequently disposed-of components as the original tires, hydraulic system, electrical system, and fuel system are all intact and in very good condition, and throughout the car, the original labels, emblems, accessories, and stickers appear where they were applied in Coventry. This E-Type is nothing less than a time warp back to 1974. All it is missing is the new car smell.
