In 1965, a new model joined the Mustang stable, which already included a hardtop coupe and a convertible. This new model was introduced as a 2+2 fastback body. For the 1965 production year 559,451 Mustangs were manufactured. 77,079 were fastback models and 73,112 were convertibles. The popularity of the Mustang was eye-opening to the entire industry.

This isn’t your usual Mustang for 1965, sporting the K-Code package offered by Ford, this is a rare one. Finished in Poppy Red on the exterior with a white deluxe or “Pony” interior and powered by the desirable HiPo K-code V-8, 271-hp engine, this sweet little pony car is a blast to drive with its four-speed manual transmission. This car also has the desirable GT package that included flared, chrome tail pipe extensions, Special Handling Package, front disc brakes, grille-mounted four-inch diameter foglights, GT Equipment Group with a five-dial instrument cluster, GT fender badges, accent molding and front-to-rear lower body Le Mans racing-type stripes. This car also has the desirable Rally Pac steering column accessory gauges. This 1965 fastback Mustang also features factory styled steel wheels with double band redline tires. It has a stunning restoration in excellent colors and is restored to Mustang Club of America (MCA) standards.
