This Ford Mustang convertible is beautifully finished in red with a complementary white soft-top and has the optional deluxe, or more commonly known as, “Pony” interior, also presented in white. The Mustang has a V-8 engine attached to a console-mounted automatic transmission. Other features include an underdash air conditioning unit, chrome styled steel wheels and Rally Pac gauges.
No Ford executive in his wildest dreams could have predicted the astonishing success of the Mustang. So great were the sales records that they didn't dare mess with it for the 1966 release. Marked only by some minor trim changes the 1966 continued right where the 1965 model left off and anxious buyers were happy this was so.
