The E-Type was intended as the next generation replacement to Jaguar’s XK 120-150 series of sports cars, and it was the culmination of lessons learned from that series in road use, as well as from lessons learned in the heat of competition with the revolutionary D-Type sports racer. It is powered by Jaguar’s venerable 3.8-liter, straight six-cylinder engine. Horsepower was rated at a respectable 265, and it could muster a top speed of 150-mph.

This Jaguar was built on June 27, 1963 and was distributed through Jaguar Cars New York, USA. The car has profited from a stunning Concours quality nut and bolt restoration using factory components; and the finished product shows immaculate attention to detail. It is finished in British Racing Green paint and matched with a flawless tan leather interior and a tan convertible top. Powering this car is the original 3.8-liter Twin Overhead Cam six-cylinder engine matched with the original four-speed manual transmission. This E-Type features covered headlights, correct knock off hammer, jack, spare tire and proper wire wheels with Avon Radial Steel tires. It is accompanied by documents and restoration receipts.

The Jaguar offered here comes from a long-time previous owner who obviously maintained their cars to a high level. The exceptional paint, brightwork, interior and accurate detail are a testament to the care of this vehicle.

In its contemporary setting, the E-Type is still placed at the top of the scale when lists like the “100 Most Beautiful Cars” – The daily telegraph are released (2008). Even in its glory days the most exclusive of manufactures acclaimed its beauty (Enzo Ferrari). It is no real surprise that today it remains the must have collector car, and if you’re going to have one cherished car, the Jaguar E-Type must be it.
