In 1954, the improved XK 140 offered improved cooling, braking and precise rack-and-pinion steering, as well as greater passenger comfort and legroom, while retaining the 102-inch wheelbase and essential styling of its predecessor. During a brief three-year run, approximately 9,000 XK 140s were manufactured.
The 1957 Jaguar XK 140 offered here is one of just 3,347 Roadsters built and is a great driver-quality example. The white paint, red interior and mechanicals are all in good shape; along with body and glass which are in good condition as well. All the original emblems are present and remain in good condition. The interior is upholstered in original-style red leather, and the door panels are also in matching material and are of the same quality.
Mechanically, this XK 140 runs and drives very well and is powered by the legendary 3.4-liter, six-cylinder XK engine that is mated to an aftermarket five-speed manual transmission, maximizing the car’s performance potential. Additional features include an aluminum radiator, front disc brakes, stainless steel exhaust headers and a stainless-steel exhaust system; as well as a walnut dash, steering wheel and shift knob. A newer soft top and knock-off wire wheels shod with blackwall tires were added in 2010 and complete the exterior.
This Jaguar was purchased by the Current owner in 2010 and has benefited from a recent servicing.
