Toyota’s Land Cruiser sport utility vehicle is the longest-lived model in the company’s history. The first, developed from Jeep specifications, went into production in 1951. The best-known model, the FJ40, dates from 1960. From then to 1984, more than a million were built. Much like the vintage Land Rover, the Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser has a devoted following all on its own. Both vehicles were developed in the early-1950s and were based on the Willys M38 Jeep, which earned worldwide respect in WWII.
This white with white interior example has been restored with new paint and is based on a four-wheel drive platform. The Toyota runs with a 3.8-liter inline six-cylinder engine that is paired with a three-speed manual column-shift transmission. There is a winch mounted on the front bumper, sideways facing rear seats, and rear-mounted spare.
