In celebration of its 16th Constructor’s World Championship in F1 racing since their first title in 1961, led by World Driving Champion Phil Hill in the “shark nose" 156; Ferrari built 499 unique examples of the 430 Scuderia Spider, a F430 droptop with all the fast parts of a 430 Scuderia. Those parts included a higher compression version of the 4.3-liter V-8 making a leash-pulling 503-hp, race-tuned suspension and a six-speed F1-Superfast2 automated manual gearbox that enacts a one-two shift in 60-miliseconds.

The interior is stripped of comfort features and lined with carbon fiber and aluminum, while having no carpet, but rather an aluminum floor accented with exposed welds. The carbon-framed seats are tailored in weight-saving cloth and offer manual seat adjustments. The only luxury feature is a CD player mounted in the dash delivering sound to six speakers. As you would expect, the car also sports modern options such as power brakes, steering and windows.

This limited production Ferrari shows 3,210 miles and is finished in one of two color options available, “fly” yellow with gray and black trim. The car is claimed to reach 62-mph in 3.7 seconds with a breezy top speed over 195-mph. According to Ferrari, the 2009 430 Scuderia Spider was faster around the Fiorano test circuit than any open-top road car they had ever produced. Car and Driver magazine said “With the engine going full tilt, there is nothing but a visceral high-pitched scream, a sound that practically begs the driver to flog the car a little more.”
