Glenn Pray, President of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Company, always referred to his Speedsters as ‘Second Generation Cars’ or ‘Auburn Continuations;’ further claiming that his cars were never meant to be replicas of the originals. His cars were modern day versions of the original Auburn Speedster. Luxuries such as power steering, power brakes, air conditioning and modern V-8 drive trains with independent suspensions were not available on the original cars, but they were on his Speedsters. Since Glenn has owned the original Auburn Cord Duesenberg Company since 1960 there has been a continued appreciation for the ability for an enthusiast to own and drive a modern car with a classic appearance. Glenn Pray's company, located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, put the Auburn Speedster back into production in 1968. His cars were referred to as Auburn 866 Speedsters. The "8" was in keeping with Auburns original 8 cylinder series of cars and the "66" from the year 1966 when the engineering started on the New Speedster. 866 Speedsters were built from 1968 through 1981. Due to health reasons, Glenn stopped building cars. He continued selling original Auburn and Cord parts and performing restoration work from his factory.

Today, Glenn’s Speedsters are still highly regarded for the quality, power and beauty that embodies the originals from nearly a century ago. This sterling example is stated to have been constructed on an original 1935 Auburn chassis and upgraded with Ford drive train and suspension components. It has a 351-cid V-8 Ford engine, C-4 automatic transmission to provide optimum power and convenience. Other highlights include a side golf door, air conditioning, power steering, modern sound system, folding cloth top and side curtains. It incorporates an original Auburn dashboard and gauges for a true experience when behind the wheel. No detail was overlooked when building this car many years ago and the results speak so loudly that you are guaranteed to turn heads and generate friendly waves wherever you take this Speedster.
