The new for 1968 Chevrolet Corvette was announced as a special kind of automobile that comes along about once every generation to totally arrest the imagination of car enthusiasts. For 1968, the mechanics of the Sting Ray were improved and refined, but the most noticeable aspect was the inspiring new design. The coupe design was lauded for its uncommon removable roof sections over the pilot and the navigator for open air, enhanced by the rear cockpit glass also being removable to create a unique effect that was a first for an American production sports car. Its long, low profile features a blunt rear end design in the continental GT tradition, with an integral rear spoiler providing a striking aerodynamic design.

Finished in paint code #976 (LeMans Blue) with trim code #411 (Dark Blue vinyl), this exciting 427-cid, 435-hp V-8 engined example has three two-barrel carbs and is matched to the desirable four-speed manual transmission. The L71 engine option was a $437.10 factory option in which only 2,898 cars left the factory with. Expensive in period, it has proven to be a very prudent investment.

The car has undergone a ground-up restoration and shows 732 miles on the odometer. These miles are thought to be the miles travelled since the restoration was completed; the paint and body are reported to be in great shape without visible flaws other than one small stone chip on the nose of the Corvette. The engine bay is presented in a clean manner with the factory chrome dress-up components. The interior is also very clean in regards to its carpets, dash, gauges and door panels. Among the additional equipment on this car are teak three-spoke steering wheel, AM/FM radio, T-top with removable rear window, power steering, steel (Rally) wheels with trim rings and center caps with redline bias-ply tires.
