The Corvette enjoys its status as a performance two-seat sports car, but also carries with it a romantic reputation that is seldom duplicated. It was brought to life by GM designer Harley Earl, who wanted to create a sports car for the street, but one that could also compete at the race track. The sixth generation of Corvette was introduced in 2004 at the Detroit auto show. The C6 blends expressive design with technical sophistication. The exterior featured exposed headlights, the first time since 1962.
