Successor to the W113 230/250/280 SL models, Mercedes’ R107 was introduced in 1972. It combined chassis components from the 230/250/280 sedan models with larger S-Class engines. A myriad of engines was available, both six and V-8. With the 4,520-cc powerplant it was designated 450SL, and remained in production through 1980.
This 1979 450SL presents well in white, and comes with both hard and soft tops, the latter covered with a steel boot when lowered. It is a high-mileage car, with more than 191,000 showing.
