365 –cid, 300-hp V-8 engine, single Rochester four-barrel carburetor, Hydra-Matic transmission, independent front suspension with coil springs, live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 133-inches

Nobody knew styling and horsepower better than Cadillac did – it was the golden rule of selling cars in the 1950s. Of course, excellent advertising certainly did not hurt sales either. Featuring well-dressed couples and elegant locations, Cadillac ads reinforced the fact that, by 1957, Cadillac was truly America’s premier luxury marque.

Mechanically, the 1957 Cadillac models featured an innovative tubular X-frame design with modular center sections, which accommodated several different wheelbases and vehicle lengths. In addition, the entire 1957 Cadillac model range included Hydra-Matic drive, power steering, and power brakes as standard equipment. Underhood, the 365 cubic inch V-8 engine of 1956 was retained, but was refined and uprated to an even 300 brake horsepower for 1957. As always, Cadillac’s list of optional features and accessories continued to grow, making for one of the world’s most luxurious and technologically advanced automotive lines.

The car offered here is a 1957 Series Sixty Special Fleetwood Sedan, which features fashionable hardtop styling, as well as a longer deck than that of the Series 62 Sedan. This beautiful example has been fully restored and is presented in two-tone Plantation Green with a Laurentian Green top complemented by a green, black and silver interior.

This exceptional car is complemented by flawless brightwork, wide whitewall tires and stylized Cadillac wheel covers. The beautiful interior features a period correct dash, and is outstanding in its presentation. Passenger amenities include a pushbutton-operated AM radio, a heater and defroster, as well as the optional Autronic Eye headlight dimmer.

This outstanding automobile will make an excellent addition to any great collection of post-war American automobiles and continue to demonstrate the timeless style and technological prowess that made Cadillac the “Standard of the World”.
