In 1960 Chevrolet offered refined versions of their new-for-‘59 models. One of which was the full-size El Camino car/truck hybrid; available in its second and last year. The idea of a car body and chassis integrated with a pickup bed was not new, however with a few refinements Chevrolet sold 14,163 units. Attractively styled the El Camino offered the comfort of a car with the practicality of a light-duty pickup.

This example comes equipped with a non-original but welcome upgraded 350-cid V-8 engine that produces 350-hp which is mated to a three-speed column-mounted manual transmission with overdrive. Additional features include cruise control, power steering and brakes, AM radio, bench seat, wide whitewall tires, and MSD ignition for easier starting. Finished in red it is nicely complemented by the black and white vinyl and cloth interior. A nice driver-quality example, the body is nice and straight and the gaps are even all the way around. The paint as well as the chrome present nicely and the car comes complete with a black vinyl tonneau cover.
