During World War II, William Lyons and his staff designed what would become the world’s first high-volume twin-cam engine, and when the XK 120 was introduced at the 1948 Earls Court Motor Show, one journalist commented “… all preconceived notions as to what was a series-production sports car disappeared overnight.” The XK 120’s body was a fresh, minimalist design with gracefully flowing curves, while the modern chassis provided excellent handling.

The 210-cid inline six-cylinder engine, producing 180 horsepower, was mated to a four-speed manual transmission, and provided phenomenal performance. This 1952 XK 120 Drophead Coupe is equipped with the Special Equipment option, which included a C-Type cylinder head, high-lift camshafts, an upgraded suspension, and a dual exhaust system.

Complete with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate and benefitting from a fresh high-quality restoration, this lovely Jaguar is finished in desirable combination of red with a tan leather interior and a black canvas top. The fits and finishes are consistent with the quality found in the rest of the car. Chrome wire wheels with knock-off hubs, matching spare with the appropriate tools, whitewall tires, fender-mounted dual rearview mirrors are also desirable features found on this wonderful car.
