In 1968, Chevrolet restyled the Chevelle with a three-inch shortened wheelbase and all new design that included a rakish front end with bold sweeping lines that stretched from bumper to bumper, as well as a longer hood and shortened rear deck. The recessed rear window was altered into a fastback appearance and the rear side windows were given a vee-look.
