With the 412i in long need of replacement, Ferrari launched their newest and most powerful GT car ever produced in 1992. The 456 became Ferrari's new flagship Gran Tourer, and would remain in production until 2003 with 3,289 examples built in total. The 456 boasted many firsts for Ferrari in terms of new technology and design integrations; it would also however mark many lasts as well, such as the ubiquitous pop-up headlights often found on many Ferraris. Replaced only by the 612, the 456 exudes luxury and performance that only Ferrari can deliver. While many variants were produced in the various GT, MGT, GTA, and M GTA formats. The GTA is the rarest with only 403 units produced from 1996-1998.

The 456 on offer here was sold new December 12th, 1998 out of Ferrari of Washington. Enjoyed by two local owners, this 456 was well serviced and cared for by Ferrari of Washington. There it received annual servicing and a Major Service as well. In November of 2009 it made its way north to its most recent, and third owner located in West Chester, PA. Upon receiving his new Ferrari, the owner commissioned a full servicing at Algar Ferrari of Rosemont, PA. There a full belt service and fluids change was completed at 14,218 miles showing on the clock. In December of 2011, a receipt from Algar shows a complete radiator service and fluids change at 14,951 miles. New Bridgestone Expedia tires were done within the past 100 miles, and today the clock shows 15,492 miles. This very well serviced example with no need for any service, it is purely a turnkey example ready to be enjoyed.

We have had the pleasure of enjoying this 456 for the past 100 miles, only to report it is in near perfect condition. Many of these cars suffer from lack of servicing and not being cared for, this particular example was always a prized possession, and has been well kept. Cosmetically there are no issues to be noted, the body is dead straight with no known paintwork present anywhere. The glass and rubber is nearly new, and the rockers and bumpers are clean with no chips of any kind. Opening the door finds a supple and just broken in leather interior finished in a very understated grey with black dash and black carpets. The dash has no pulling or warping, as is common with many of these cars. The headliner is perfect, and the switches, knobs and other areas are all clean, work as they should, and are not sticky. Everything on the interior is in perfect working order and is extremely clean with no blemishes to be noted; an impressive and delightful place to be overall and certainly one of the best.

The car starts easily, drives well, shifts without hesitation and stops on a dime; all to be expected from a superbly well serviced 456 that has only had the hands of experts upon it. The oil pressure always reads where it should with the temperature in the middle at all times. One would be hard pressed to find an issue with this 456. Opening the trunk shows a nearly new carpeted compartment; the 10-disc changer is present as are all of the tools, still new in their plastic and leather cases. The glove box yields all of the books present from day one with abundant detailed and up to date service, with absolutely nothing missing at all.

There are always a few 456 Ferrari models available on the open market, but few have been cared for to the extent of this example. Always well serviced, and 100% up to date, absolutely complete in every respect with no disputable history of any kind and three caring owners. This is an excellent opportunity for any enthusiast or collector searching to own one of the best 456s offered in recent times.
