Ford Motor Company introduced its De Luxe Ford line in 1938 as an upscale alternative to bridge the gap between its base model (usually called Standard) and luxury Lincoln offerings. Most notably, in 1940, the standard model featured body-colored vertical bars, while De Luxe Ford featured a three-part grille with horizontal bars. This sedan is an example of older restoration that shows nicely. It features an original “flathead” V-8 with a three-speed manual transmission and is finished in burgundy.
