The 1948 Chrysler Town and Country Woody Convertible being offered is a gorgeous example of one of less than 200 Town & Country Woody convertibles that exist today. The restorer of the Town and Country applied great efforts in the detailing of the car to its original integrity in the areas of mechanicals, chrome plating, top, interior, woodwork and marbelized dashboard. Renowned upholsterer, Kathy Bickford of Vintage Woodworks, was responsible for the high-quality work seen in the interior, soft-top and trunk.

The restoration of the Chrysler was completed in 2009 from a rust-free southern state car that retains its original engine and the original woodwork. The current owner has owned the car for 11 years and states that the car has been driven less than 100 miles since this exquisite restoration has been completed. The car has been shown, but rarely driven. The seller states that the car is in Number One condition and when shown at Antique Automobile Club of America show in Oakbrook 2011, it received first place.

The original straight-eight flathead engine has been rebuilt, as has the rebuilt Fluid Drive transmission connected to it. The convertible top is power operated. The exterior is original paint code 12 – Yellow Luster, and it looks spectacular with the Tan & Black leather that replicates the original factory application. This smooth running machine can be easily compared to a piece of fine-crafted furniture.
