This classic is said to have begun as an American LaFrance Combination Fire Truck delivered to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania on January 22, 1920.

It is reported that, based on the serial number, originally the vehicle included a Ford chassis, firefighting pump, firefighting chemical tank and water tank along with additional firefighting equipment. The vehicle is now titled as a 1925 American LaFrance/ Chevrolet and it is thought to have had the chassis switch in 1925. At some unidentified point, the firefighting pump and water tank were removed. The original engine has been replaced with a 1980 Pontiac 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine with a manual transmission. The fire truck has been in a private collection for the past seven years; prior to that it was used in parades twice a year.
