Symbolic of Chrysler's 1980 fortunes, was the first-ever 2 seater awkwardly named as above. It was first shown in 86 as a Q-coupe but was delayed due to problems until 89. Chrysler acquired a minority interest in Maserati, a well-known Italian sports car maker. Their main role in this venture was merely to build the TC. THe customer's only choice with the TC was the paint color as the car came as a total package. The one price model included leather upholstery, full power assists, all-disc antilock brakes, a natural soft top with a heated rear window, and a removable hardtop with porthole rear windows, recalling the 56' Thunderbird and the early Iacocca's career at Ford. The TC bombed. THe automotive news trade weekly named the TC the "Flop of the Year"
