Between late of 1993 and early 1998, the Porsche 993 (as it was known within Porsche) is the ultimate air-cooled 911. It is the last evolution of the 911 in its purest form, staying true to its roots in many ways. Not only was it the last air-cooled 911, but it also sports many related features to the early SWB cars all the way up through its precursor, the 964. It is the product of 30 years-worth of expert design and progression. On this same note, it is also a car that can be driven and enjoyed as a daily driver. Reliable, resilient, and a true performer, the 993 can be considered the last collectible 911.

The example on offer here has led a privileged life of care and enthusiasm. It was sold new to a Dexter Charles, out of Paul Miller Porsche, located in NY. Its first date of in-service was 5/27/1994. From this point we can follow its service under this current ownership with many stamps in the service books. In 2000, at roughly 18,000 miles the car was sold to Mr. Charles’ son-in-law, who cared for it until 2008 when it was acquired by a local fine art dealer. The mileage at this time was about 34,000 miles, and in total from this enthusiast ownership the odometer now reports 42,000 miles.

Today the car shows as a nearly new example in every way. According to the owner, the rare Metallic Black exterior shows to be original paint as tested by a meter and closely inspected. It has never been painted anywhere. The glass is all original and blemish free as well. The car reflects that of an accident/incident free car that has never been painted and is very straight.

Upon entering the contrasting beige interior, one can find blemish free door jams and kick panels, seats that hardly show signs of use and an interior that is clean and blemish free. Some factory options throughout include an eight-disc CD changer, eight-way power seats, sunroof, rear window-wiper and rear spoiler.

Upon starting the car is fires instantly, sounds strong, and revs freely with good power and oil pressure. It handles as one would expect from a 993: excellent. Braking is flawless and in proper working order and overall the car has absolutely no mechanical defects known and has always been very well serviced either by the Porsche Dealer or Porsche Specialty Shops. The tires have about 5,000 miles on them as well.

Complete with all books/records, factory tools, jack, spare, air pump and disposable gloves. This very desirable OBD1 993 is indeed an opportunity not to be missed by any enthusiast or collector looking for a great example that won't disappoint.
