Equipped with the optional 289-cid, 195-hp V-8 engine and three-speed Cruise-O-Matic transmission, this two-door Galaxie 500 also features extra-cost power steering, AM radio, whitewall tires and full wheel covers. Its standard equipment includes an electric clock, back-up lamps, and aqua “Gleam Cloth” and vinyl upholstery with Mylar accents that, along with the carpet, appears to be original. Assembled in Ford’s Detroit plant in Wayne, Michigan on April 23, 1963, this Sports Hardtop is finished in Peacock Blue, and wears the new-for-1963 fastback roofline that some sources claim was inspired by stock car racing.
