This car is one of only 2,384 “true” MK I Mini Cooper 1275 S models ever produced, of which 1,060 were built with right-hand drive for the UK and another 1,324 left-hand drive cars for export. While over a million Minis remain on the road today, only a handful are original Mini Coopers. Ordered and purchased by a London advertising executive in the fall of 1964, this Cooper 1275 S was ordered as an exact copy of the "works" racers for daily commuting, finished with a Tweed Gray body and an Old English White roof, with a Dark Gray and Dove Gray two-tone interior.

It had covered some 95,000 miles, was painstakingly restored twice and remained under single-family ownership for 38 years until 2003, when it was sold to Gerald Andrew Wadman of Brighton and sold again just a year later to Dominic Langridge of London. Neither the second nor its third owner actually took possession of the car until the third owner traded it for a Shadow Formula 1 car with UK dealer Adrian Hamilton. The current American owners acquired it from Mr. Hamilton on October 5, 2006, taking delivery in California. As offered today with complete and detailed ownership history and restoration documents, this car is well documented and carefully preserved to its original specification. Equipped with a sturdy roll bar, supportive bucket seats and racing harnesses, this very desirable Mini Cooper is also complete with FIA paperwork and ready to race.

With the exception of a removable FIA roll-bar, seat-belts and fire-system, it remains completely as delivered with all of the original “Cooper” components right down to all five wheels intact and functional. A selection of spares and documentation will accompany this vehicle, including the original seats, all original ownership records, receipts, documents, UK Log Book and all old registration records and documents.

This Cooper is currently titled, licensed and road-registered in California on plates “FLO 979C.” The original and matching “FLO 979C” period UK plates from new and all old registration / MOT documents and tax discs also will accompany this car.
