The open phaeton offered here was reportedly made by Ferrari e Corsaniga of Milano. Referred to by the Quattroruote Collection as a dogcart, it is of the design used by the English for hunting, with a special compartment for transporting dogs under the seat. A “trellis” on either side of the area allows the dogs to breathe.
The wheels have a remarkably advanced feature for the time period: solid rubber rims. The front and rear seats, unusually plush for an automobile of this style, are both upholstered in genuine natural leather; note also the fitted umbrella basket, as well as the dual lamps mounted at the front.
This would certainly be the ideal vehicle for either the collector of fine carriages or for the gentleman sportsman to enjoy on the hunt, hounds and all.
