Est. 15 hp, 498 cc horizontal SV twin engine.

Most people think of flat-twin boxer motorcycles with shaft drive as being BMWs, but Zundapp built such designs simultaneously with BMW and even offered an 800-cc flat-four in the 1930s.

Zundapp was founded in 1917 and had built 100,000 two-stroke singles by 1933. That year the company switched to pressed steel frames and engines as big as 798 cc. This common design was shared through various engine sizes, and the 250,000th Zundapp was manufactured in 1942. After WWII, Zundapp returned to making smaller two-strokes, including the excellent Bella scooter.

This Zundapp Sidecar Outfit is understood to be a rare civilian specification model and appears to have been restored over 20 years ago. The Parri two-seater sidecar attached to the machine is in good overall condition, finished in black with a brown interior. An ASI badge is affixed to the rear with ASI homologation number 0175. A very usable older restoration, this motorcycle is capable of carrying three passengers in pre-war, three-wheeled style!
