85 hp, 221 cu. in. V-8 engine, three-speed manual transmission, front beam and rear live axle suspension with transverse leaf springs, and four-wheel hydraulically actuated drum brakes. Wheelbase: 112 in.

To many enthusiasts, the 1940 Ford represents the quintessential pre-war offering from Dearborn’s Blue Oval. Penned by designer Eugene Gregorie, the styling was very handsome and well received, as production concluded with nearly 600,000 cars finding new buyers. The designations of Standard and DeLuxe now applied to the difference of either a 60 or 85 horsepower engine. Offered here, in DeLuxe form, is the very same timeless design, with equipment and options that include the venerable flathead V-8 engine, a three-speed column shift transmission, wide whitewall tires, as well as wheel beauty rings, a radio with an external antennae, a heater, and a fully equipped trunk compartment. The front grill badge suggests prior event participation with the Early Ford V-8 Club, as the car was fully restored to a level that warranted judging. Today, it still presents quite well with minimal cosmetic issues. The engine compartment and underside, as well as the interior and exterior, are tidy and well kept. Overall, this is a fabulous Ford in a seldom seen color.
