Model 78. 85 hp, 221 cu. in. L-head V-8 engine, three-speed manual transmission, live axle suspension with transverse leaf springs, and four-wheel mechanically-actuated drum brakes. Wheelbase: 112 in.

The 1937 Ford models featured a number of firsts for the company. Design wise, the headlamps were now mounted in the front fenders, which, along with the grille and fender skirts, were styling cues borrowed from the new Lincoln-Zephyr. Elegantly displayed, this cabriolet was one of only 10,184 produced and remains one of the most sought-after early Fords. Finished in gloss black, it presents as an older restoration with some aging. The paint, body, and undercarriage are presentable but could benefit from a light refurbishment. The engine bay has also been restored, using all of the correct Ford details. Features include a banjo steering wheel, factory radio, clock, dual tail lamps, and a painted faux wood dash that is simply beautiful. Unique to the rumble seat cars, the tan interior has a pass-through area between passenger compartments. Very few cabriolets come to auction, and this example possesses great investment potential.
