170 hp, 2778 cc inline overhead cam six-cylinder engine, automatic transmission, independent front and rear coil spring suspension, and power assist hydraulic disc brakes. Wheelbase: 94.5 in.

The 280 SL was offered in America through 1971, when it was replaced by a newer SL series that was more focused on size and luxury than youthful appeal. Finished in onyx black with tan leather, this roadster stands out as a delightfully unexpected part of the collection. It has obviously been well looked after and is an attractive example of the pagoda-roofed cars. It is well equipped with an automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, and a Becker radio. The passenger compartment is tidy with minimal issues. The engine shows little change from original and shows typical wear from normal use and maintenance. Michelin tires are mounted on all four corners, and a proper spare is located in the trunk. Like other SL models of the day, this is one that can be enjoyed on the road on a daily basis and look just as good in the garage. This car comes with a hardtop as well.
